Oleg Barsky, PE

Mr. Oleg Barsky is one of our Senior Mechanical Consultants at KnightHawk Engineering. As a fixed equipment life cycle specialist, he has over 25 years of experience in the industry in both upstream and downstream applications. He has extensive and practical knowledge of industry codes, standards, recommended practices, and specifications including ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Sections, NBIC NB-23, API-510, API-572, API-579, API-650, API-660/661/663, PCC-1/2, etc. Equipment life cycle experience includes design, fabrication, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, mechanical integrity issues, fitness-for-service (FFS), repairs, and alterations.

Mr. Barsky volunteers as a member of the Participation in ASME Code and Standards Committee, developing and maintaining the ASME B&PV Code (Sub-Group Design and Sub-Group Heat Transfer Equipment of Sub-Committee VIII). His experience includes heat exchangers and their components (flanges, tubesheets, floating heads, breech lock closures) design and troubleshooting, other fixed equipment troubleshooting, including fitness-for-service assessment of in-service degradation, certification of old vessels and exchangers lacking documentation or using obsolete materials, failure analysis, repairs, alterations (rerate), design reviews for changing process conditions.
